Traumatic Brain Injury Care
Brain Injury Care And Rehabilitation At Crystal Garden
- A resident care facility is the ideal setting for someone living with the challenges of a traumatic brain injury. CGRCF offers a low patient to caregiver ratio, in a quiet in-home setting, equipped to facilitate all of the patient needs. Part of our services in to provide ongoing assessment, and partnership with the patient's healthcare providers to assist in the rehabilitation and improvement of the patient's condition. As the patient's condition improves, we will assist them to develop self-care skills.
- The success of rehabilitation depends on many variables, including the following:
- Nature and severity of the brain injury
- Type and degree of any resulting impairments and disabilities
- Overall health of the patient
- It is important to focus on maximizing the patient's capabilities in an in-home environment. This is best achieved in a resident care facility. Positive reinforcement helps recovery by improving self-esteem and promoting independence.
- The goal of brain injury care is to help the patient return to the highest level of function and independence possible, while improving the overall quality of life— physically, emotionally, and socially.
- Daily care at Crystal Garden for a patient that has sustained a brain injury, may include:
- Self-care skills, including activities of daily living (ADLs): feeding, grooming, bathing, dressing
- Physical care: nutritional needs, medicines, and skin care
- Mobility skills: walking, transfers, and self-propelling a wheelchair
- Communication skills: speech, writing, and alternative methods of communication
- Cognitive skills: speech, writing, and alternative methods of communication
- Socialization skills: interacting with others at residents here at Crystal Garden
- Pain management: medicines and alternative methods of managing pain.
Our Services
We offer a wide range of services including 24-hour nursing, medication management, physical therapy as needed in partnership with the resident's healthcare provider, and recreational activities. Our goal is to provide our residents with the highest level of care and comfort.
Accommodations
Our resident care facility offers private and semi-private rooms with comfortable amenities to make our residents feel at home. We also have common areas for socializing and relaxing.
